Georgia; Raw

When I was shooting at Sydney Fashion Week this year, I bumped into the lovely Sydney-based model, Georgia Jones. We chatted, connected through photographs and realised that we were already fans of each others' work.  She also happens to be an amazing poet and wordsmith, so if you're into that sort of thing like me, you should definitely check out her work. Where in the world are you living/working right now?

Sydney, Australia

And your heritage?

I was born in Western Sydney and I am Australian, so I'm of English descent. I am actually related to either Burke or wills - who were Australian explorers in the 1860s. I'd have to ask my grandma which one it was.

Are you religious or spiritual?

Spiritual

What’s your star sign, and do you believe what they say?

My star sign is Gemini, and I do believe that astrology has a lot of elements that are quite accurate. Most bodies of water are affected by the moon and the movements of the cosmos - and seeing as we are 90% water I don't see why it wouldn't affect us.

Can you speak any languages?

None other than English. I'd like to learn Spanish.

Favourite comfort food?

Pasta

Coffee or Tea?

Coffee

Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert?

I'm an introverted extrovert

What one thing about you, would you change?

I wish I was more decisive. I constantly have contradictory thoughts and ideas. (Gemini is the sign of the twins - indecisiveness is quite a commonly spoken of trait for my sign)

Is what you’re doing now, what you always wanted to do growing up?

Not at all. Even as a child I was indecisive, I remember wanting to be an archaeologist and a lawyer among other things - but I never really had a consistent dream other than singing, which is something I still rarely do in public.

What's your most treasured possession?

Some jewellery I have that belonged to my Dad.

What was the happiest moment of your life?

There have been too many to choose only one.

And the saddest?

Losing my dad last year.

What do you most admire in your friends?

Compassion, creativity and dedication.

Did you ever keep a journal?

Yes I did when i was young, up until the time I was around 13. Then I stopped for years until last year.

What animal best represents you and why?

A snake. It constantly sheds layers of itself - and is always seeking sunlight.

If you could spend a week's holiday anywhere?

Cambodia. It's on my bucket list this year.

What book has influenced you most?

A book of collected poems by Hafiz, who was a Sufi master.

If you could change one thing about the world...

I would want everyone to grow up with equal opportunities for education and health.

What would you most like to be remembered for?

I would like to be remembered by the people in my life as somebody who made them happy.
