Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am a Dutch model with a curious soul and an endless craving for travel, sun, palm trees, and oceans. After finishing studies in marketing and communication, I started traveling. In the last year alone I visited Asia, the Caribbean, and the US. At the time of this interview I was based in Brisbane and working with Viviens Model Management.
When did you start modelling?
I have been modelling and acting for more than 8 years. I was scouted at 13 and signed with an agency at 15.
Which agencies have represented you worldwide?
Most of the time I worked freelance because my height (172cm) was considered a challenge by many agencies. That seems less restrictive now, which is great. Over the last year I was represented by EuroModel in the Netherlands and Viviens in Brisbane.
What are your top 3 career highlights so far?
Last week I flew to Thailand to shoot a tutorial for Garnier, which was amazing. I was also the lead female talent in a music video for Lost Frequencies, and one campaign for a Dutch travel agency in Portugal felt like a week-long holiday with a camera crew.
Biggest job you’ve ever had?
A direct booking to Thailand for Garnier.
Favourite kinds of shoots?
Beach shoots, always.
Any advice for aspiring models?
It can be a tough world, so make sure you can handle the pressure and avoid comparing yourself to everyone around you. If you’re serious, connect with people already working in the industry so you can learn how it really works.
Who would you like to be photographed by, sky’s the limit?
I always wanted to shoot with Marc Lagrange from Belgium, but sadly he passed away.
Any post-shoot rituals?
Usually relaxing and eating something unhealthy.
Your favourite model right now?
Doutzen Kroes remains a major inspiration.
How do you stay fresh-faced while traveling and working a lot?
A lot of water and a lot of sleep.
